BLIND
J. T. Goodwin
October 23, 1990
I remember her running down the hillside
She was dressed in ragged clothes
She called out to me, but I couldn't hear her
At all
I remember the distress in her eyes
But I couldn't tell what was wrong
I couldn't see her need or understand it
She was calling me
She moved away to a bigger city
That was many years ago
She needed more than I could give her
I was just too blind
She got into a mess before too long
Those were scenes that carved deep scars in her soul
She called out to me, but I couldn't hear her
It was just too late
CHORUS
Can you hear her calling?
Hear her voice in the night
With her pain, suffering, and anger
She is calling you
Now I sit here alone, I'm an old man
I have grown old all alone
When I call you, I expect an answer
When I'm calling you.
